Dear Downtown Friends:

- As you all know, the 5th Annual Crystal Coast Boat Show took place this last weekend and it was the most successful one so far. The meteorologists were forecasting weather doom and gloom the entire weekend and were WRONG!!! People came out in droves. We want to thank the Arts Council of Carteret County, the Morehead City Chapter of the AACA and the After Hours Rotary Club. We want to thank all of our sponsors, exhibitors and vendors. We want to thank all the MHC workers from the Department of Public Works. We want to thank our Boat Show Committee and most of all we want to thank all of our incredible volunteers, many of whom are DMCRA board members. The weekend can be physically punishing, but there were never any complaints…only smiles and laughter. The strength of a community is the product of the character of the people who live and work there!!! I’m proud to be part of this community.

- Congratulations to Andy Hopper from Chef’s 105 winning again in the Fire on the Dock Dining Competition! This means that Andy is heading back to Shell Island to compete one more time in the finals!
